Position Title: Web Application Server-Side Developer (ID: TS0244)
Location: Toronto, Ontario
We are currently seeking a developer for our CaseWare Core team. Developers work in C#, .Net and SQL providing web services for a large, complex web application. The team works closely with a user interface team. The server runs on SQL Server and Postgresql using .Net / Mono.
You are responsible for:
- Developing high-performance, stable, robust, and secure code.
- Using bug tracking software to assess and plan your development tasks.
- Using source control and the latest development environments to perform your development tasks.
- Ensuring that your code is of good quality, solid design and meets requirements.
- Assisting Technical support and Quality Assurance with product related issues.
- Maintaining existing code by resolving problems identified by Technical support or Quality Assurance.
- Producing clearly written and concise design and architecture documentation for use as a basis for Technical Writing and Sales related documents.
- Providing accurate time estimates and meeting scheduled deadlines.
Required:
- Computer Science degree or relevant experience
- Solid knowledge of SQL, C#, .Net
- Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with developers and outside groups.
- Willingness to participate in meetings and contribute to the overall process
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and complete assigned tasks as scheduled.
- Proven analytical, design and planning skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Preferred:
- Experience with Visual Studio and Eclipse
- Experience with web services
- Experience with Stored Procedures
- Knowledge of XML, REST, SOAP, JSON, RSS
- Understanding of internet security
- Ability to develop high performance code
Qualified candidates will be required to sit a test. The test is 1 1/2 hours and covers basic programming theory. The test is part of our interview process and an interview may be done immediately after.
